Latvian philosopher Artis Svece writes: “Graduations characterize a whole worldview, an understanding of the course of life and the tasks of education. By deciding whether to hold a graduation or not, we affirm or question the importance of this understanding.” The exhibition “Graduation” examines the meaning of graduation both in the context of the authors’ personal experience and in the wider cultural field.
Gustavs Lociks’ series of synthetic images “Festive Salad” looks at the culture of the festive table, while the video installation “❒2” (cube squared) refers to the author’s own work “❒” (cube) created during his studies, which shows the abstracted architecture of the digital environment levels of video games.
